"Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience." Ephesians 5:6 NKJV

Wow! Did you know how important your words are? I have to say I forget sometimes. As Americans we have learned to listen to empty words from politicians, Televisions personalities, and Newscasters. It doesn't faze us usually. We get used to it.

We have learned to not believe what others say so when Jesus says I will never leave you or forsake you do we believe Him? Are  empty words without meaning creeping into our spiritual life? Do we turn off what God is saying in His Word?

It seems to me that believing God is a process. As we grow in God it becomes easier to trust Him since we have a history to look back on. My love for Him gets stronger as I get older and I realize He is worthy to be trusted. This of course, does not mean I understand everything He does.

It does mean I can trust Him when I don't understand. His Words are never empty or void of meaning. He means what He says and He does what He says. Our understanding is jaded by sin and our lack of knowledge.

I hope I'm not around when the sons of disobedience get their due. It will not be pretty. It amazes me when people defy God. They have absolutely no concept of the reality of the wrath of God. It doesn't make anyone happy when those who disobey are lost. God doesn't like it and neither do we.

As long as there is life there is hope. Hope for the lost to come to the truth, to come to Christ. We do not know what transpires at the last moments of someone's life before they die. Pray for those you know who do not seem to ever come to know Him. Blessings
