This is a pleasant thought, but how do we have peace in our lives in this tumultuous society?  Jesus spoke this to His disciples after his crucification, when He first showed them that He was alive. In verse 20 it says, "Then they were glad when they saw the Lord." Really, they were just glad? I don't know about you, but I think they must have been  amazed, overwhelmed, a little freaked out maybe?

I don't know what I would have done if I saw someone alive who had died. I know He told them that He would come back, but they assumed He meant at the resurrection of all souls, not in three days!
They were shut up in a house for fear of the jews, not in eager expectation of His arrival. They needed to hear these words, "Peace be with you."

When Jesus enters our circumstances He always bring peace. Sometimes we ask Him to come, and sometimes we just realize that He has always been there from the beginning. Today, realize as a child of God, who has given her heart to Christ, that He is so in love with you!" His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me."
